I think it's a software issue for you...
when I am overclocking, I know I don't have enough voltage when....
1) won't boot, starts beeping like crazy
2) won't goto windows, but will post
3) crashes during CPU tests in sandra
4) crashes in prime

How do you know if an overclocked processor is undervolted? I have my XP 2100+ AIUHB overclocked to 2.2 GHz at 1.825 Volts (MBM5 and Sandra report 1.76 V) and it is rock solid running both Prime95 and 3dMark2001SE. However, I sometimes find that the cpu usage will shoot up to 100% and get stuck there, sending my cpu and mobo temps to 55C and 32C, respectively. Otherwise, my cpu and mobo temps are 43C and 29C. I don't understand why it gets stuck at 100%. Is this a software problem (maybe one of the programs I'm running in the background) or a hardware problem (something to do with voltage)?

Endow me with wisdom, oh wise ones!!!

Uh what can i do if the comp wont boot and i know its a voltage (mem or cpu) problem? i mean i dont have any access to bios and clearing the cmos doesnt help...(epox 8rda+ / amd 2100+ aiuhb 0307)

h2z,

What voltage did you set for your cpu? The 2100+ AIUHB should handle up to 1.85 Volts no probs (that's what I'm using). Actually, if you can't access the BIOS at all, then I don't think voltage is your problem. It may be a problem with your BIOS EEPROM. What happens when you turn the computer on? Does the monitor come on and show a bootup screen that tells you what kind of processor and how much memory you have? Or do you just get a black screen?

I dont get the black screen, in fact i dont see anything on my screen and the debug led shows the code "01(h)" which has to do something with the mem as the manual says it is "expand the Xgroups located at physical address 1000:0h"...as i said i dont have any access to the bios screen and even clearing the cmos with the jumper didnt help...2nd time it happens to me and ill have to take it to tech again :/ last time the tech dude told me he used an old pc2100 mem which doesnt require as much voltage as the corsair twinX 512...didnt say anything else but i sure will ask for more details when i take it back to lab on munday.
