ver low 3d mark score....

ok people heres the dillio. i have a rather well overclocked computer that should be tearing up the benchmarks. However i am only hitting a 15559. heres the link... http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6626885 . My computer specs are as follows:<BR><BR>amd athlon xp 2700+ at 2.46 ghz 1.75 volt 204 fsb x 12 mult = 2.46 ghz<BR>a7n8x 2.0 nforce 2 motherboard<BR>tyan tachyon g9700 pro at 375 core and 670 memory. 3.4 cats<BR>512 mb 3200 ddr 2.5 geil memory 256 oczsystem 2.5 ddr 3200 memory timings in bios 2-2-2-5<BR>very adaquate cooling. at these clock rates i run a 40 degree c.<BR>windows xp service pack 1<BR><BR>any idea why i score so low? ive seen comparable and undercomparable computers kicking my butt in the benchmarks. ive seen some in the 18000's. shouldnt i be there too?<BR><BR>

Well one thing I am noticing is your mismatched memory...are you running all of this memory on the same channel or are you trying to run dual channel?&nbsp; For running dual channel you need to at least have two sticks of the same size...preferrably a matched pair but the same brand would help.&nbsp; Try running the benchmark with only one of the sticks in it...

mmcduff you are a life saver!!! with just the stick of 512 giel memory i ran a 16500 at 2.3 ghz. much much better compared to a previous 14800 at the same clock. almost 2000 points. i had no idea memory had that much to do with the score. i thought the memory on the vid card had everything to do with that. i should be able to turn that 16500 into an 18000 in no time thank you so much and as far as that stick of ocsystem memory, im going to trash it asap. one more question tho. would it be benificial in any way to buy anotehr stick of the geil memory also 512 and run the side by side in duel channel mode? would there be any performance difference?
