dual channel and a A7N8X?!!

i was reading the manual to this mobo, and i read that to utilize dual channel you have to set the dimms on slot 1, 3, or 2,3, or 1,2,3. Im just asking cause i have a pair on 1,2 of mushkin 256 pc 3200. I know you need 2 dimms of the same size to use dual channel. well thats about it, thnx

Using Dim #1,2,3 won't give you dual channel. You can only use 2 Dimms for this feature. Just put your mem. modules in dimms 1,3 or 2,3 and it'll work.

shiznit is exactly right. the manual didn't explain it too well. what it's telling you is that you can use dual channel only with 1 and 3 dim or 2 and 3 dim. you can certainly use 1, 2, and 3 dim but that will only be single channel. i know!... those motherobard manufactures really need some work on their manual <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

LOL. I think they just need to hire a decent interpreter for their publication. One can definitely tell that (SOYO, Abit, and others) English was not their native language, and it wasn't well learned either.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

From my interpretation of the manual, I think dual channel is enabled if you fill all the slots.

Dual Channel is from 2 sticks... the name explains it. <u>DUAL</u>. I talked to tech support cause I had problems with the mobo and came across asking him about the Dual Channel Ram
