yea i have something id like to share and also some questions. the thing i noticed is once the bios is flashed to rev 1004 it appears to be much more overclockable and stable at that. I used to have trouble doing 200 x 12 now that ive flashed the bios im doing 206 x 12 which is 2.47 ghz compared to my stock 2.16. honestly i believe i could go alot farther my only issue would be my ram which is 3200 and cuts out at 210 mhz (420). all temps are nice and cool, under 50 even when busting out a high graphic game.

my 2 questions are as follows...

when i flashed my bios it does say on the post screen during boot up that its rev 1004. but through my system after entering windows it tells me its rev 1002.a. this is when using sisoft sandra 2003 and also cpuz. did i do something wrong?

my second is not a related subject but rather then add another post i iwll ask here.

i have the geil 3200 ddr memory with factory timings of 6-3-3-2. i was wondering has anyone reached 6-2-2-2? i would try but i dont wanna screw up and have to reset my cmos. if you have let me know so i can try

thanks. also how do you post a link in your profile, i saw the list but its not working for me.

opps sorry, i have one other question. i am running a 512 stick of geil memory 6-3-3-2. this means im only running in single channel mode. now in pcmark i run a memory test of 5800. and in 3dmark2001 i score a little under 17000. would i see any benifit to getting a 2nd stick and running in duel channel mode? i know with the amd systems the diff between duel and single isnt that big, but i guess im wondering how big.

I have been able to run my GEIL PC3500 2-6-3-3 at 2-6-2-2 stable the stock 333MHz my SOYO will allow. I tried 2-5-2-2 but that was unstable as hell and never completed running 3DMark. Damn, you scored just under 17K? Nice! I can't wait to get my Abit back from RMA and OC the Barton, as at stock 2.08 I can only reach 16342.
You can always try to run that FSB at more aggressive timings, but I am willing to bet it won't be stable where you have it now. As the GEIL was only guaranteed to run stable at 400FSB, 420 isn't bad at all.
LOL! Any overclocking is risking having to reset the BIOS and start over. I've had to do it more times than I can coun't on my hand. Just shut it off, swap the jumper for a couple seconds, swap it back and go back into the BIOS.
I understand that there is a benefit of running Dual Channel, but very slim, and you would probably have a decrease in performance if you just bought a separate stick for that. Ask HowardBAM! He has seen better performance with Corsair TwinX than the 2 sticks he purchased separately. That's why I bought my GEIL Dual Channel Kit. They have been tested and guaranteed to be compatible in Dual Channel mode.

Anything over 200MHz is very good for an A7N8X non-rev2.0. You're probably limited by the older nForce2 northbridge and not your RAM.
