Why are you looking to buy a board that's already obsolete?
A KT400/A or nForce2 isn't that much more. Unless your current board is toast save up for a new system.

I definitely agree with Dean....get an nForce2 motherboard...you can find the NF7-S v2.0 for about 115.00 USD...and that is a much better choice of board vs. the KT333...

You probably wouldn't see much of a speed boost if you upgrade your mobo/RAM. You really do need a new system core (mobo/ram/cpu). An upgrade like this would give you the biggest benifit. Is now the time to be doing this? probably not. You can get some really good deals with an Athlon XP 1700 and OC the hell out of it, and the lower end P4's with the 800Mhz FSB are pretty awsome. Personally I'd wait. In the next few months you've got the the Athlon 64 and Pentium 5 coming to town. I'd evaluate their performance and then make an upgrade decision. By then the Athlon XP and P4 will be dirt cheap

yeah i know i should get the new nforce 2 boards, and beside this upgrade is only gonna cost me like $140, with 512 pc 2700. It should boost me up more cause running ddr ram now. or would it be the same? I decided to make a quick upgrade cause some my games get laggy, like vice city starts to lag when cars crash and a whole bunch of stuff happens. and i would think that if get a a new board that supports ddr it would improve that. I hope that made sense, and thanks for the quick replys

DDR PC2700 would definitely be a performance boost over the PC133. I still agree with the others. Save a little longer and pick up an NForce2 motherboard and some PC3200 or PC3500 DDR SDRAM.

<< cause some my games get laggy, like vice city starts to lag when cars crash and a whole bunch of stuff happens >>

Getting DDR with such a slow CPU is almost a waste. You may see a little bit of improvement, but not much. If your going to keep that CPU, buy the cheapest DDR possible as it will still give your system more than enough bandwith. Looking at the minimum requirements for the game, it requires at least a PIII. That's equivelent to your current Thunderbird. The reason your seeing it so jumpy is maybe you have visual settings too high. If your running minimum requirements, most of your settings should be on the lowest quality available. A New CPU would fix that. I'd suggest just adding one to your board, but if your board only supports SDRAM, it would be useless.

Not as bad as you thought, eh?
I bought mine for $42, but I think they're up to around $46 now.
