I installed BF 1942, and when I go to play the damn thing, the cd just doesn't seem to boot up. All my other games like MOHAA work, but BF just goes to the very first logo box with the tank in the background, and from there, nothing..... Does anyone have any syggestions on how to fix this problem??? I really want to play this game, but because of this problem I can't. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Plz help us help u.

Post another reply stating your system information. From the very beginning plz
CPU, Mobo, RAM, etc.
Vid card.
^ V-Card's Drivers
DX Version

All of these are a common reason to look into on hardcore game failures. Most of the time, it's directly linked to VCard on the lines of you need the latest drivers, but might actually be lack of RAM, as BF is quite certainly another game.

Also plz be more specific with your description of the problem. Saying "from there nothing" leaves us guessing whether it STALLS or simply CTDs and leaves you w/ nothing to look at.
I'll GUESS, that you might have a scratched CD, or not enough RAM, the computer is not receiving data from the CD-ROM drive in one way or the other. Driver problems usually show themselves after you actually try to start a game (crashes to desktop etc..) If you are using the autoplay feature off the CD then and the CD is scratched then the game might not work. Although, you could legally posess a BF1942 crack because you own the game. Go to www.megagames.com and search for a .exe crack for bf1942, if that allows you to play the game then it is the CD itself. Try different CD-ROM drives and put different or more ram in the computer.

-Will.
