Does anyone have this board? Is it a good board? I like the fact that it is legacy-free and can support upto XP3000 (from what I can determine). I currently have an ABit KX7-333R with an XP1800. I want to move up to a faster FSB board and processor. My kids computer will get my current mobo/cpu.

Thanks!

H.

If you're getting a new board for AMD, nForce2 Ultra400 is the only way to go.

If you want to stick with Abit, then the NF7-S revision 2.0 is definitely the one to get. It is rich in features, nForce2 based, and supports the Ultra 400 DDR standard. It is also considered one of the best boards to overclock, if you are interested in overclocking. An NF7-S paired with an AMD XP 1700+ JIUHB DLT3C would give you the most performance bang for your buck. Or you can opt for one of the latest Barton cpus. If I were you I'd get an Athlon XP 2500 Barton and set it with a 400Mhz FSB. I think that would give you an Athlon XP 3200. Just about all new Bartons clock that high. You can pick one up for $87 from NewEgg.

I just spoke with a technician at Abit and was told that the highest CPU that the NF-7S will currently support is the XP2000! IF that it true, then I do not want this board. I will probably get the AT7-MAX2 and an XP2500 (Barton). Abit said that board with support up to XP3000.

Thanks!

He apparently has never seen this board. I have a 2800+ running on one at stock speeds right now.

My question is, which one is more expensive?
