Oh well, forget about it. The OC is not gonna work. I downloaded CPUFSB cuz SoftFSB wasn't OCing my CPU. CPUFSB wouldn't OC my CPU either so I set it so that the computer would run at OCed speeds at startup. When I restarted, the system started crashing right after Windows was done loading. I had to go to safe mode and disables CPUFSB at startup. From then on, CPUFSB makes my system crash right when I OPEN the program, even after I reinstalled it. What a crappy journey, which all of the above posts were involved.

Is there any way to OC my CPU without any OC options in BIOS? The only real bottleneck in my sys is the CPU so I really need to OC it.
Thanks everyone
Yeah, I tried doing this myself with my bi tch system because it's OEM and has no OCing options in the BIOS. There's a program called SoftFSB that will let you raise your FSB within Windows. Hopefully, your motherboard is in the supported list and you'll have no troubles. If not, you'll have to open up your case and look for your PLL-IC number. There's a bigger chance that your number will be on the supported list. If it is, you can OC away.

All the info is included in this link.

Good luck.

I need help using the program. My motherboard's not listed and I don't know where the PLL-IC list is? Also, I can't really do anything without first choosing a motherboard.

If your motherboard isn't listed then hit the radio button next to 'Target Clock generator'. Then the drop down menu of PLL numbers will be active and you can select yours.

To find your PLL number:

There are two possiblities to find the version of PLL IC. The first is that it is already implented in CPUCooL. Please email me your board type and PLL IC and it will be added to the list. If it is not in the list, you must look at your motherboard. There are several IC's and a crystal with a value of 14.3 MHz typed on top, it is next to this crystal that the IC's normaly reside. Then you should look at the supported PLL's and if there is a match you are the winner.

Click for photos.

Never mind Roy. The site has all the info I need, just as you said lol. I really should pay more attention to what the posts say.

Can I plug the fan, a theoretical fan, JUST into the powersupply? I don't think my motherboard has any fan sockets.

truth of it is, if you want to OC you cant have a compaq computer, or any m@$$-manufactured computers
