hey does any one have any idea how far you can overclock a lowly amd k6-2 500 cpu. i have a gigabyte mother board that has up to 140 mhz fsb and a multiplier ratio of upto six times the video is a voodoo 3 3000g and am running 256 megs of ram. the cpu has heaps of cooling and runs just off cold all the time

I'm not really sure how high you can overclock it. Give it a try and see what you can get out of it. If any hardware will ever fail because of overclocking, it will be hardware that's a few years old so take things slowly

grafton26 I use to have a K62-500... Unfortunately they don't overclock very well even with a good HSF.

Highest I was able to get my chip was 550 MHz and all I did was raise the multiplier from 5 to 5.5 while keeping the 100 MHz FSB.
