Ok I got my 2500+!

I pused it up to 11x200 so the comp reads it as a 3200+. So I did as instructed and ran Prime95 but got this error at test #11!

FATAL ERROR: Final Result was F817DE87, expected: 12E057AD

Ok so here is ALL the info I have:

CPU-Z Results:

Name: AMD Athlon XP
Core: Barton
Tech: .13
Family: 6
Model: A
Stepping: 0
Ext.Family: 7
Ext.Model: A

Vcore: 1.664 (Acording to asus Probe, is set to auto)

I REALLY want to run it at this speed! I read on some of the other post that setting the vcore higher can help but dont want to do this w/o some prior Advice.

As far as temps go right now I'm running at a range from 89-96 F which is actually less then what my non oc'd 1800+ used to run.

Oh and Colin Here are the #'s and stuff off the processor:

AXDA2500DKY4D Y859598280895
AQXEA 0328UPCW

Hope that Helps!

You need to raise the core voltage some. Try it at 1.75v and see if that doesn't fix the errors in Prime95.
You don't really need to worry about raising the vcore until you reach 1.85(AMDs recommended top), as long as you are watching your temps (Celsius?). Are you using stock cooling? My 1700+ tends to run between 37C operating and 47C full load.

ok Core raised to 1.75 running test now. Temps Still look good 38 °c for Procossor and 31 °c for the MoBo. Still below what my 1800+ used to run.

Sounds like you got a half decent OC there. Are you sure you don't wanna up the FSB anymore? You'll get a nice performance boost.

I may but im going to wait a few days on this one and make sure everything work out. But hey I get a 14163 on 3Dmark 2001SE so I happy!

I'm not a 3DMark expert, that's Colin, but I think you should be able to get a higher score than that.

hey thats 4000 more then i ever got before. Well I know from tyring it that its the gainward card holding me back. It just wont OC like the MSI's and Albutaron's. I've got it tweaked to its fullest (unless there are mods or sumthin, and i never did up the power). By all means if it is possible let me know how MO POWER MO BETTER!

Hey dragonclaw,

I was looking at your sig, and I was wondering if you can lower your CAS latency from 2.5 to 2? Of all the ram timing tweaks, that gave me the most performance boost. Right now, I have my 1700+ JIUHB at the same speeds as you (11 x 200 MHz) at 1.8 Vcore with ram timings at 5-3-3-2. If you can get a stable setup at 5-2-2-2, that should squeeze out some more performance out of your rig, I think.

You should definitely be able to squeeze more 3DMarks out of your Ti4800. I got 14156 on mine, and I only have a Gainward Ti4200!

Ginsu's right. My Ti4200 maxed out at 15320, so your Ti4800 should do better than that. Are you using stock cooling?

Yes stock cooling but it not a matter of it running to hot. I had it set to like 330/680 or more cant exactly remember but it acted funny. It worked fine on CS which is what I play the most but on WC3 and Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness (no I didnt buy it I got it off IRC) it would hang. I didn't up the voltage at all b/c i didnt want to screw anything up. At any higher then this whith defalut (1.5?) voltage I get like 1 Artifact.

Im sure i Have the power to spare. I have a 430 Watt Antec PSU.

And as far as mem timeings go this is the best i can do with default voltage. I went through that in my first post and was told that my mem doesnt respond well to tight timeing. I was never told wether to try the voltage thing so I didnt.

I ran PCMark 2002 and scored a cpu score of like 6890 (not exact) but as I was compareing them I saw some one with a 2500+ oc'd to 11/215 so I may try this as he/she scored near 7300.

I really think what is holding me back is the mem and cant get more as of this sec. I looked into the one they had where i could trade mine in but it was 2-3-3-6 and a brand I had never heard of (super T, i think). So I didnt trade I got the 2500+ Instead.

When a game "hangs," your GPU is overclocked too high. When you get artifacts, it is because your VCRAM is overclocked too high and is overheating (how do you get just one artifact?). It sounds like you need to drop the timings down a little on both GPU and videoRAM until you can get better cooling on it.

You should be running Direct X 9.0a. It has some usual Microshaft bug fixes.
