Okay... I'm getting the ASUS A7N8X. It supports Dual channel memory. Will my current RAM work on Dual Channel or do I need to buy some 'Dual Channel' DDR? I was reading in another thread about having the RAM in slots 1 and 3 as opposed to 1 & 2. Is there any good reason why or does it just work better?

You can use any RAM you want in dual channel. It should however be the same size modules, and be made by the same company. Dimm 3 is on a separate channel from Dimms 1&2. To use the dual channel feature the RAM modules must be on separate channels. So you can put the modules in Dimm 1&3, or Dimm 2&3.
