Round Cables

How good do round cables work. I want to replace the floppy, the HDDs and the CD drives with round cables.

They work just as good as flat cables and have less of an effect on the airflow in the case.

Definitely go with rounded cables. Besides the functional advantages, they look better, too.

Go to SVC.com I got mine there for 2 dollars a piece. They look awesome now that I installed my window

thats where im getting them from, plus 3 led fans a lighted grille and 2 clear fans oh yeah and also a new CCFL. <BR>Just a question, all my lights are blue now should I get the grille in blue or in red, its the unreal symbol

I have read that some cross-talk can occur on the rounded cables. The cross talk of course reduces performance. The flatter ones are grounded and paired better to help reduce this. I have complete sets of both rounded and flat cables. When I get my Asus mobo back I plan to test this theory out... stay tuned!<BR><BR>Anyone suggest a few good HDD performance benchmarks?

I don't wholly beleive it either... that's why I am going to test it out. Once I get my Asus motherboard backI'll run some benchmarks using the flat cables that come with board and then using my Vantec round cables... I'll be sure to pot the results.

I like round cables just because of their neater appearance. If you keep your system neat, then they will provide no real cooling advantage. I always had my ribbon cables folded perfectly so they ran flat up the back of the case wall. If you do this, then the round cables actually block more airflow.

Yeah same with me, ribbon cables are always neater in my case. But the round ones look nicer <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
