I have a window case and all those wires are right up against the glass. The best solution I had was to twisty-tie them out of the way. Those wire sheeth things wont work, they'll look like junk. I did consider putting the drives upside-down making the conectors on the far wall-but i dont thing HDD are suppose to sit that way.

I had one sitting at a 45 degree angle on the bottom of my case and it worked fine

it doesnt matter how you position a HDD.

I figured, but im paranoid about premature drive failure. I even have cooler for one of my drives (see signature, just an IDE drive)

usually the longest i stay with my harddrive(s) is a year......maybe a year and a half

but usually it averages 8 months before i upgrade

so for me it wouldnt really matter how they sat..........plus i dont really have anything very important on my main rig anyways........just on my laptop

I usually keep HDs for between 2-4 years. Technology in this sector really doesn't change that fast. It definetly doesn't matter which way you position your HDs. It would be a little difficult to position your optical drives like that though
