Choose which one...??

When I boot up my computer, which was upgraded from 98 to XP Home, before going to the XP splash screen, it always asks me which OS I want to start, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, or Microsoft Windows. Wtf is this??? How can I get rid of this, and tell it to always boot XP without me having to tell it to??? Thanks.

when you 'upgraded' are oyu sure you didn;t accidentally ask xp to run a dual boot system (what is the other os that you can boot into).<BR><BR>One solution you could do is make a boot disk and boot from it using the command 'fdisk /mbr' (without the quotes) - basically this will erase the master boot record and xp should sort out the rest for you!!

Well, basically, instead of telling it to update, I did the advanced one, which I thought did like a clean slate. Someone told me to edit a boot.ini file, but now I can't find it, and Ive tried searching, and nothing comes up...???<BR><BR>PS I don't even know what the other OS is, it just says "Microsoft Windows", but Im guessing that its 98, since thats what I had before the XP.
