Since my other thread seems to be off in Never Never Land, I thought I might try to re-post it here...

OK, When starting up Windows XP with my DSL modem plugged into the Ethernet port, and turned on, Windows takes about 6 minutes to notice that I'm not logged into my DSL provider, while it's looking for something I'm not logged into, I can't do anything with the computer until it finally notices that I'm not logged in. If I unplug the Ethernet cable from the modem and restart, it takes about 12 seconds to find that I'm not logged into the internet and then I can use my computer.

My system is as follows:
WindowsXP Pro
AMD AthlonXP 1800+
ASUS A7N8X (nForce 2 chipset)
512MB DDR400 memory
ASUS VS9520TD GeForce 5200FX (128MB DDR memory) video card
Liteon LDWS450 4x DVD+/-R drive
Using onboad LAN
Sound Blaster Live! XGamer

I've also got another problem too, it has to do with my nVidia GFX card and my Samsung 750S montior...the problem is as follows:

my friend and I have the same monitor (his was purchased last month, mine back in September), we're having the EXACT same problem. When switching between 99% of the programs I use, the monitor display jumps/moves a little. Like if I go from Windows Explorer to Internet Explorer, the actual display moves UP or DOWN (randomly).

If you put in terms of "units" how the display moves, I would say that it moves a full unit (like about 10 pixels or something like that) when I change programs it's annoying and I figured that it was only my video card but it happened on my friend's computer and he has a different video card then I do

That's an email I sent into nVidia's tech support, I already talked to Samsung about this and they said it was the drivers for the video card, if anyone has any ideas on what I'm talking about input would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
