I am involved in a project right now that's developing a site, and i would like to know if anybody knows a registry setting or anything that will disable the annoying clicking sound that microsoft has made IE do whenever you click a link. I know how to disable it from the control panel, but that's not what im looking for, its so that when others remotley log into our site to access thier info they won't have to hear that annoying loud click.

thanks if anyone can help!

anthony

Welcome to PCStats BobbyDigital!

To get rid of that sound... go into the Sounds and Audio Devices thinger in control panel. On the Sounds tab, look in the Program Events box and locate Start Navigation, it should be under the Windows Explorer group. Set this sound event to None!

Bobby, you would have to delete that sound off of each pc that accesses your site...that is a windows sound associated with the event of clicking on a link....it has nothing to do with the programming of the webpage..

Spam

Have you got Webroot Spysweeper installed? This program also has an annoying mouse click sound when the tracking cookie shield is on. This can be disabled by clicking options - active shields - untick enable sound.
