Looking for a good and easy version of linux to put on one of my old boxes<BR><BR>Specs<BR>133 mhz Petium<BR>32 or 64mb sdram (not sure)<BR>2gb hdd

Linux Nopix will run off the CD, doesn't need to be installed. It would be great for learning on cause you could still use Windows for you day-to-day stuff well you figured Linux out using the CD.

nopix spelt knopix!! <BR>if you want a proper distro then for a newb (i am not claiming to be anything but!!) i would suggest mandrake or red hat as these are the most user friendly and the install is a doddle!

I second that Iceman, i am using redhat9 dual booting with winxp , i supposed to run on anything down to a 386 computer, can be confusing to configure but not imposible. if you want to surf the internet you might want to find a modem that is supported under the linux os of your choice. most winmodems wont work,but external ones work fine. how you install depends on your needs and also your hard disk space, for a full install you need at least a 4 gig hdd. there is also a forum or two that you would be able to ask for help from other linux users. <BR><BR>I would checkout the redhat website for info.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif" border="0">
