WinXP all Messed Up........ Help!!!!!!!!

I rebooted my system after a lockup this morning and when WinXP went to the Welcome page, I couldn't read the word welcome..... it was a series of symbols. In fact everything that used to be English is now symbols.... icon names, Start at the bottom, the time in right lower corner, all labels, text you name it....... absolutely everthing it seems but web pages.<BR><BR><BR>Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it even do this in Safe Mode?<BR>Go to Start-Run-Control Panel-Regional and Language Options. Select the Languages tab and click the Details button. Make sure it's set to English (United States) - US (or whatever language you can read - lol).

"screen shot" just push the "print screen" button on the keyboard, and paste on a image editing program, like paint, or photoshop

maybe someone has just changed the default font on your operating system<BR><BR>go to display properties > apprearance > advanced and then click on the text in the little diagram and change it to tahoma (the real default)
