uh i believe copyright infirngement can't touch you, most companies (except microsoft ofcourse) let you make a copy of the cd as long as you don't sell it, or give it to anyone else, as for a good program, go to downloads.com and type in nero this is one of the best programs to use for cd burning, and it works very well just make sure you tell it to make a copy instead of just dragging your (whatever drive your vice city cd is in) to the (blank cd drive) i tried doing that once, and it wouldn't burn broodwar, but the first method worked

nero won't get pas the copy protection...for making back-up cds the best program is clonecd or blindwrite suite. These two programs copy exactly the original cd so that you get an identical copy therefore bypassing and copy protection.

I use gamecopyworld or megagames.com for fix files that take away NEEDING the cd at all.

As far as copy progs go, i use alcohol %120, though i heard blindwrite is also good.
Check out cdfreaks.com for more info.

yah alcohol 120% does it great.. i use it cause i can just have the image on my computer without having to switch cds (great at lans), as far a burning goes there some settings you have to mess with so that it'll burn it correctly.

I have just tried Blindwrite 5 and it works a treat , i was able to backup my copy of Emperor Battle for Dune with ease. there were no tricky settings to set. all you do is do a read from your original cd and the do a write to your blank cd simple as that.

I use alcohol 120% as well as nero with some addons for encoding/decoding, between the two of them you can pretty much burn anything

I preffer CloneCD over Alcohol 120% for copying stuff with harder protection. ClonyXXL is another great tool that I use to scan for the copy protection. After the protection type is determined you can hit a button to launch CloneCD and automatically set the burn options to best break the protection.

Personally I buy games. You gotta support the game industry or someday their just may not be one. On the other hand I noCD crack everything for the sheer convenience.

do you just do the edges of the cd or the whole cd w/alcohol?

Same here, cept I suppliment it with one or 2 encryption detectors such as ClonyXXL.

The protection is getting better now. Just look at the way StarForce3 works. I havent tried it on my legit copy of Kill Switch but I doubt even alcohol can get past this one. Maybe mounting the game to a hard drive would work but the stuff is getting insane and trying to make 1:1 copies is getting very hard.

Why, am I surrounded by mere mortals? Listen to escape the illusion. Know the understanding of reverse psychology. Corporate special interest log many of these "PRO/CON" statements. I the necromancer have used
GAMES XCOPY
to resurrect all known games to an illuminated copy; enslaving all other minds
in my media symbolism. Through the manipulation of the minds of the mass the elite agendas will exhibit the opposite of what we proclaim. Fall all of you
"special interest" masonic dirft over your generations to enslave you.
