Looking for map/atlas software

I am going on a roadtrip this summer and I would like a good atlas/map software for my laptop that will give me detailed up-to-date information on roads across the United States.

i think autoroute is pretty much the defacto at the moment

Looks like good stuff, but it's for the UK and Europe. I need one for the US.
