I setup a network with six computers using WindowsXP Home. Computers 2,3,4,5,6 connecting to computer 1 via mapped drive. All computers connect to the workgroup without any issues except the last one. I receive the following message: Microsoft Windows Network: No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept. All the computers have a mapped drive setup to reconnect apon restart/reboot

My question is: How do you increase the connections computer 1 will accept within WindowsXP home?

Thanks

Hi Aemdliz,

Unfortunately you are up against a hard limit. According to Microsoft, XP Home is limited to no more than 5 simultaneous inbound connections. XP Pro allows 10. Outbound connections are unlimited, but that doesn't help much I guess...

here's a link to the relevant MSKB article
