I need Java.Unfortunaly,when I kink to its site and click download,it show me Ican't install it.<BR>I'm using WInXP pro.
xp should have the ms jvm already installed unless you uninstalled it or something, you can go to the <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://java.sun.com">java</a> webiste and downloads sun's virtual machine

Which version you use depends on what you need it for. If you are developing applications, definately get the one from Sun. I think I heard somewhere that the Microsoft version has some inconsistencies with the Sun version. I figure why not just use the software from the people who developed Java in the first place anyway?? <BR><BR>Also, sorry to correct you again Iceman (also in the other Java thread to which you replied), but I am pretty sure Microsoft stopped including their version of the jvm because of copyright infringement problems with Sun. I forgot what all the downloads and patches were prior to including and after sp1 I installed, but I think I remember the only time anything about Java was mentioned was as a result of trying to install Visual J++ (which requires the Microsoft jvm)<BR><BR>Not sure why it is not installing though. Are you trying to get the Microsoft or Sun version?
