DirectX 9.0A

What is DirectX 9.0A? Look at my PC specs on my sig. Somebody told me I have a awsome PC. Then they pointed out to me I should install DirectX 9.0A. I don't want to jack with my PC if it is running games fine in the first place and it is. What should I do? Go for it or leave it be? If I should where do I find DirectX 9.0A?

As far as jacking your machine It shouldnt they are backwards compatible as far as i know so you shouldnt have any probs.All my games run perfect with 9b and most new games require it to run correctly.So its normally included on the cd's so you can either wait till you pick up one of these newer games or do the windows update to get it.

JimN I believe DX 9.0A includes new PS3.0 code in it which is absent in DX 9.0. MS didn't think enough of this though to give it a new version number and your card doesn't take advantage of these new features so you wouldn't notice a difference. <BR><BR>DX 9.0B has been released though, you should install that because it's suppose to address a few security issues with DX 9.0A.

Haha nice one Ace! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> You can also download the SDK <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a6dee0db-dcce-43ea-87bb-7c7e1fd1eaa2&displaylang=en">here</a>, if you format often and don't want to have to download DX 9B from MS's site all the time. It's the developer kit which includes DX9.0B and a few extras that you won't use.

Hmm, I can't get that link to work. Probably just me though - my connection has some trouble with a few US servers every now and again. I complained to them that their servers were giving me a couple hundred ms pings, for all they care. Yeah, Microsoft.com's "down" now according to me. Stupid net.<BR><BR>Is the SDK in C++? Or am I just making myself look stupid by asking that hehe.
