How do you check the core of an ATI graphics card? I have a 9800 pro and i want to see if i can mod it up to a 9800 xt.<BR><BR>I've heard of alot of people doing this, but how?!

SLyons you're going to have to take off the HSF... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> It's not hard but I believe that's the only way.<BR><BR>What card/revision do you have?

HSF? is that the fan/heatsink thingy?

yes...it is...if your a noob (like me) i suggest not oc'ing your video card...

On the other hand...<BR><BR>I would suggest overclocking the video card with a tool like Rage3D Tweak to see how fast you can make it go before you try flashing the BIOS. I've heard the Pro to XT flash works even if you do not have the R360 core. The 'XT' BIOS have been hacked to work with the R350 core and some 128MB cards. There are also hacked BIOS versions that claim to work better on some brands of cards or card that with specific branded memory modules.
