View Full Version : Problem with Internet explorer
Having some problems with internet explorer, got some freaky adware and now it won't work, i can log on with netscape but not IE, I was wondering if anyone knew a place where i could get the whole browser or a repair for it since i download updates and it tries download of the net some files, but it can't connect, any help is apprechiated tnx.
ok now i'm really worried, i just ran norton, and i get an error, i also can't update it since it uses internet explorer, the worst part is that i had this problem yesterday, i formatted, and it's still here (aldo internet explorer worked for a little wile b4 i got this problem again)
u completly reformatted, as in it repartitioned the drives? (fdisk, etc)
yup , but i dont think it has anything to do with the hd or anything since it worked perfectly after the format, it was after i connected to the net and left it on for a few hours that it happend, so i'm guessing its some Fed up addware, I ran the lavasoft addware, it removed some addware files, and ever since then the thing won't work

I don't know what is causing your IE problems, but the best thing to do is go to a friends house or something like that download SP1 (I'm assuming you have XP) and burn it to a cd. Then, first thing after you format and do a fresh install is install SP1 from the cd. That way, you don't even have to connect to the internet and you will have a patched system before going on for the first time. I don't know if that is the problem, but I know that when I do a fresh install of XP and put on Norton, I get an error until I do all the updates for Norton.

Oh...and about getting IE, you can uninstall it under Uninstall Windows Components, and then reinstall it from the Windows cd.
i already had sp1, but it wan'ts to dl something off the net, and it won't work, anyway i just formatted, and so far no problems, just gotta watch out for those popups

LOL, ah, well it happend yesterday, and yesterday i wasen't home, so it was either papa, or iono
Weird, i din't ahve any more problems connecting to the net, but yesterday i had a hella amount of spyware on my pc, somewhere in the 130's, and i got it all after my clean format, and while i was running the futuremark benchmarks, i'm wondering if my dad's spyware could be the problem since my pc is sharing the internet with his over a router, and he has over 1k spyware files
