well, as some ppl kno, i obught an sp97 a while back and i used the thermal paste that came with it. i recently picked up some as5 and slapped that on.....but my temps have been up on average of about 5C degrees. ive given it a few weeks to set in n still the same thing....wierd, i think ima put the old paste back on

That is kind of odd. Although I have never seen any huge benefits from AS5 I haven't seen the temperatures raise at all unless it's layered on to thick, or the HSF isn't making good contact or something. I'd trying to reseat the HSF and reapply your AS5 once more before I switched back... though like I said I have never seen any huge benefit so... uh.. whatever.

ya, tried reseating it, the paste was really like....worse than molasses, is it sposed 2 b that way....n i did spread it good

did u follow the instructions on the site?? My friend is having the same problems with AS ceramica. I always stick the the white stuff. Just put a dab, put the hsf on and its spreads by itself ;)

bah, i dont care, the temps r still acceptable to my standards, i jus downclocked it earlier, i cudn put the multi below 11, so i hadda lower fsb, its at 11x182 1.575 now, i cud lower the voltage, but not in the bios. i wired the tornado for 7v, its gettin good temps....n the summer in here will b more livable:)

Make sure you use a very thin layer of AS5. I laid it on too thick on my video card and it made it worse, too. I took the hsf off and reapplied a very thin layer, and now it's better.

ya....ill try that later when i put it back in after testing my duron again.....if i feel like it, been really lazy these days
