OK what exactly is the difference between the Abit AN7 and the NF7-S?
will they perform the same or what?.. the only real difference i see is the audio output and the basic layout has some differences... i like the AN7 more for some reason but all of you like the NF7-S better...plus i found the AN7 for $61 .
thanks again for you guy's help

the an7 doest overclock as high as the nf7, cause they took off some of the tracings on the mobo or something like that, im not sure i read it somewhere, but i do know that the an7 is not as good as an nf7 in overclocking, and the only diff is that the an7 has that uguru stuff that no one needs
Yep. Abit cut a trace in the back of the mobo so it doesnt OC as well and that uGuru thing is a "auto OC" such bull$hit

so if i don't care to OC it that much it would be an ok board? i have a 2500xp Barton and a 2500 mobile. i think for the time being OCing to about 2.0/2.1 ghz could i still do it with the AN7? all i need is a Mobo,Vcard and maybe a few more fans and i'm all set to assemble.
you could, its still a good board, but y would u pay more money for something thats slower?

yea i just saw those there are an NF7-S2 and NF7-SG2, wtf are those lol, they prolly added like WiFi or something to them but i dunno, man if youre gonna get a mobile/nf7-s combo you gotta OC, 2.3-2.4ghz is easy on a mobile, and Ocing is a piece of cake anyone can do it, just get quality components

I did get the 2500 Moble and 2500xp Barton.. so i think i'll be in good shape and i can build 2 systems now...got both for $150 w/free shipping.
i might just try both the AN7 and NF7-S boards .. just for the hell of it. that is IF the wife approves LOL
You got a mobile, get an NF7-S... OCing is like an adventure :) Its frustrating and a pain in the butt when it doesnt go right, but when you reach your goal... oh its beautiful! :o

I also think you should pair up that 2500+ mobile with the only mobo that will do that little cpu some justice: the NF7-S. With quality ram, you can overclock that sucker to ~2.5 GHz, which will give you 3800+ performance! It's an amazing processor.
