Progs stop working :(

Hey ya all.
Can somebody help me, I have had a small problem of late, where my System manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) will not stay up, you press the buttons it flashes up and then dissapears, also my Norton Antivirus has now got a large cross through it and I can not enable it :( infact it does nothing at all, I have just had another program of mine go down which will not load up even though i was using it like 1hr before.

I have tried Search & Destroy, Shredder, but really will they fix my problem, or just get rid of what ever is wrong and leave them programs with missing files ?.

I have scene this issue on a number of systems that were spyware/virus infested. Try reinstalling a copy of Windows over your current copy to see if that replaces the missing files.

Yeah, if Norton AV is behaving like that, it sounds like a nice little virus has outsmarted it and taken it out. Many viruses attack AV programs first, so they can go about further business unheeded. You could run a virus scan online, from say the McAfee/Panda/Norton website or something, and then go about reinstalling programs etc... but it really would be simpler to do as Shiz suggests and reinstall Windows.
