I had 500W PSU with 2 blue/red LED fans but I dont like those colors because it's so unfit in computer along with purple case fans. I want to replace those fans with 4-LED purple case fans like LOGISYS ones. Is it OK to do it without problems?
I love purple fans...:D
I doubt youll run into any problems... Right now Ive got 3 tornados (1X92mm, 2X80mm) 1X120 4 LED blue, 2X80mm 3LED blue, and I had 2X80mm 3LED purple (didnt like em though)... I havnt had any problems.
(also... my purple fans were the Logisys ones -spelling?!- and I didnt care for em cause they were pretty dull... if you havnt bought em yet look around for somethin else.)
Edit-
Ohh... I think you mean your PSU has the fans IN it? If thats the case... I gots no idea.

It's ok to do so, but make sure the fans your replacing them with are of equal or greater CFM, also doing so will most likly viod any kind of warrenty. I found on mine when I changed the fans that the fans in there had a 2 pin plug and most case fans are either 3 or 4 pin. So you'll probally have to wire the new fans outside of the PSU.

They're look more case fans to me so they were attached to PSU with regular fan screws. It look much easy job to do some modding.

They look much same to purple case fans.
Ok... here's what I would do. Take out the psu, swap the fans, then boot it up without connecting it to the mobo. Theres a simple jumper mod that requires about a 1 inch piece of wire that lets you power up the psu without the mobo... I dont know a link right off but you shouldnt have trouble finding it... Anyway, do that and at least you wont fry any other components if for some reason it doesnt work out for ya. Im pretty sure it will, but play it safe, cause you never know what manufacturers are thinking when they make their products...

found the link afterall :)
You connect the green wire to any black one. Everybody should memorize that...
Anyways, I did it to my old 400W. I cut the wire to the old fan and soldered the wires from the new fan to it ;)

I took PSU out for close-up and discovered that it is POWMAX Aluminum PSU (500W). I guess I'm better to let those fans stay and start looking for mod PSU to match my purple lights. 500W PSU came with the case for $45 at computer show.
If you saw 500W PSU with purple LED cooling fans, pls let me know.
F that man, just cause its 500W dont mean u shouldn't mod it. There's nothing to it ;)

as long as you don't short the two terminals of the huge capacitors inside you should be perfectly alright cutting out the stock fans and replacing them.:)
