Hello.
This is the first time I am using this site, so I`ll be short.
I have this problem, becouse I am using both Opera and Explorer, and some pages I am visiting with Opera has seemd to hijacked the Explorer, so it has been locked on a page. (I think the site`s name was "MySearchWeb").
But, unfoutuantly, I have scanned the whole PC with Northon, AVG 7.0, Adaweare 6.181 and Spyweare S&D, but it dosent seem to work. And sometimes the internett shuts itself off, but that happends just when I am surfing with Opera (it fixes itself when I restart the PC).
So, I wounder, is it possible to fix this, and how did this happend when I am using Northon Online-security all the time, and the internett is set on "Moderat alert"?.

PS: Thanks for an really good page.

i think you are referring to MyCoolWebSearch. thats a big problem. have you downloaded Adaware SE build 1.02 yet? if you havnt d/l that then run it, see if that fixes it.

Personally, I don't like Norton. IE's "moderate alert" thingy doesn't work all too well. Get all the latest updates from lavasoft and such and you should be good to go.

get hijackthis to sort out problems with browser hijacking. Instructions are everywhere on the net :-)

I had the same problem as the first guy, and I had to remove the offending values manually via regedit. Everything is fine now except for one thing. When I type in an address into my IE explorer bar, I just get the message

"Cannot find [address]. Make sure the path or Internet Address is correct."

And that happens even if I type in the correct name of this website: pcstats.com. Does anyone out there happen to know what else is wrong with my browser, and how to correct it so I don't have to surf using this work-around I've discovered?

try this site out http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/enterprise.htm

i had this problem your having on my old computer. I never did fix it. But i would run adaware and it would consistantly find browser highjacks and stuff. It would never totally fix it though. Then i would change my browser to what i want and then the search thing would switch itself back on. I've heard that this is a register thing like mentiond. You'll have to go into registery to fix this. I'm pretty shur that trend micro has directions on doing this. check it out
