I have been reading up on so many different motherboards and RAM types my freakin head hurts. I finally decided on amd 64 3200+ with msi k8n neo-fsr and 1GB of ram. I dont really know the different between all the good ram though. Should I get 2x512 or 1x1024? (pc3200) any help or suggestions will help out a lot. Oh ya i think i only want to spend around $200 and its for mostly gaming.
Thanks

Corsair XMS XL, Kingston HyperX LL, Mushkin Perf. LVL2, but these run at like $270+ its the best ram you can get right now. there might be other manufactures who use the same ram chips (The new Samsung ones), and these run at 2-2-2-5 @ 200mhz (very fast)

2 x 512...
512's overclock better than 1024's and you'll find more high end 512's than 1024...probably for cheaper too
Edit: noooooo....you beat me to it again elrich :(
a wicked deal (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-220-006&depa=0) on newegg $169 for 2x512 of pdp system's memory...latencies of 2-3-2-5-T1 with 2.6v and lifetime warranty :D
the next set of 2x512 that performs similarily costs over 200...

That PDP Systems say dual channel, but my motherboard and processor are only single channel right? or am i confused somehow. and how would PDP hold up to Corsair in performance...im probally not going to notice a difference, only in price huh?
thanks for your quick replys guys.
these are also 64x64...is this high or low density? and would 32x8 or something else be better?

dual channel ram will run in single channel mobos...and two sticks of the same single channel ram will run in dual channel too...the kits just ensure maximum level of compatiblilty between the two sticks of ram so they can work toghether better...
you'll be hard pressed to find 2 sticks of single channel or dual channel memmory running at 2-3-2-5 at stock voltage that costs than the pdp ones...heck the review gave it a 9 and the corsair an 8...even if you bought corsair memory running at 2-3-2-5 which costs way more...they would perform the same...unless you are willing to shell out $315 or more for ram that will run at 2-2-2-5
plus you can probably get an msi neoplatinum with the $30 you save on the ram :D
