Athlon XP 2600+ ~1921 mhz
166/333FSB running Dual Channel DDR
x1 512MB kingston 3200
x1 512MB (Unknown Factory shipped) 3200
Celestica ATI Radeon Gold Edition 9600XT 128bit 128MB 499core 400ramdac
These are the default specs (No Overclocking)
I know My Motherboard is Overclocking friendly
Need some liquids
The system Is Hitting Extremes Gotta Cool Her Down
Gettin a 3200+ with another Mobo
The 2600+ is expendable
Recomendations for Liquid cooling? Please Post
If All works Out... Then I've Got Myself A couple of 3200+s!
You gotta keep in mind that some chips simply WONT OC past a certain point... but you should easily be able to get near 2.4ghz out of that 2600+ chip just on air cooling. Ive got a mobile chip that I can run up to 2700mhz... Liquid is just the quieter more expensive method, and it can be beneficial... but not necessary most of the time.

The highest i've ever overclocked this is 2.2 ghz (VERY UNSTABLE) temps at 53.
Three air fans plus one on the ATX 350 watt power supply (of course) and processor. when running dxdiag at this speed it always crashes just as i start the dx9 3d diagnostic the rest of the tests are fine same goes with unreal 2004 i get the black screen as it switches to the gaming res and the (Meant to be played with) intro Refuses to play then CRASH!!!. Stays stable at 2.0 ghz but my C.O.P. utility that come integrated into the mobo knows when TOO HOT IS TOO HOT! and takes a dive 15-30 min. Whats the fsb on your 2600+ i've heard of 266 2600s as mine is 333 maybe thats whats inhibiting my xp processor i know that These are one of the last gen xp chips that are hitting the roof on potential But Liquids gotta do it unless your Laptops air flow is superior than my tower's. Mines not the best but hey... a little modding a little slicing i'll work.
Still Thinkin Liquids though.

166 x11.5
1.65 v core - Norm settings
And I've got heat spreaders on my little 3200 ram buddies
i dont know if water cooling is necasary but if you want to go in that direction then might i reccomend the Danger Den MAZE4 Power Kit.

Sounds nice but i wanna know if this prescribed cooling Will fit the next gen athlon cpus (11 Months) (hard to say But I am A modder Never say Never!)
I change My mobo every year and sell the old. except for this year..... somethings wrong and i can't put my finger on it but i think that someone has been in cohouts with intel. they'll kick ass in Dec.(christmas! how did i know)
but next summer you can bet your booty that AMD is playing possum i wanna know how good are these cooling machines? are they interchangable between chipsets? (and if they are) will the BTX FACTOR Blow us out of the water Literally??????? Lost In 64bitness. Second sight needed.

~1921.85-11 mhz - Timed 30 secs 2 sec intervals (Pretty stable if i say so)

did you try giving the chip more vcore?? 53 degrees is no where near unstable...i've seen xp's go as high as 60+ with no problems with stablility so it might be something else..
Edit: with the money you will spend on watercoolin you'd be happier spending it on a amd64 cpu + mobo...

Yeah I am with Bluegreenshxt here. I let my chip run into the low 50º range all the time, especially now that it is summer. Something else is holding you back. It's not the C.O.P. either, working in the shop I see a lot of customer rigs running stock speeds with the stock fan and one case fan running between 50 and 60ºC all the time. When I am OCing looking for 3DMark scores my CPU temp often approaches 60ºC (especially in summer) and I have never had a problem.

I love my amd 2600+ with my swiftech MCX 462V w/119cfm tornado @2.310ghz (210x11.0) @31C idle (room temp 24C). :) i've gotten my proc up to 2.490ghz (166*15.0), but it performs just a tad better with the uped bus speeds+ ram mhz.

Three air fans plus one on the ATX 350 watt power supply (of course) and processor. What brand/model is that PSU? There is a chance that it is what is causing your stability problems.
