View Full Version : Where to buy tocools novasonic in the States?
Anyone know if these are available in the States.
I contacted tocools directly but only got a quote back when I wanted to buy x hundred of them. Every search for this thing comes up empty.
TIA,
Bas

if you are looking for a good socket A heatsink i would recomment the zalman 7000A-CU. Just make sure it fits on your motherboard. It will perform better than that novasonic..
ooooooohohoooo...its a heatsink...well why didnt u say so!! :p
im sure if u google it...it will come up somewhere

Sorry, since this was the cooling newsgroup and this heatsink is among the better ones (at least looking at pcstats / frostytech reviews) I assumed that everyone would know. I tried to google but came back empty-handed.
Maybe I should restate the question:
Anyone recommend a heatsink/fan that will fit my ASUS A78NX-Deluxe?
I will not do any hard-core overclocking and price and noise are probably more important that cooling. Right now I am leaning towards the Vantac VA4-C7040 (~22 shipped).
The Zalman someone else mentions in this thread seems to superior but is almost double the price...

Elrich the Vantac VA4-C7040 is the aeroflow. It is loud. Well louder than the stock fan at anyrate to the point where it annoyed me enough that I wanted to change it.
Batter, the zalman one is well worth the money. Both in terms of performance, noise, and upgradablity. It's one of the best heatsink's out to date for people, quiet and good performance. Plus its compatible with socket 478, 462, 754, 939, and 940 so its very upgrade friendly (unless you want to go with the new intel socket) But future upgrades into amd sockets will not be a problem with the zalman heatsink. Whereas in the Aeroflow you will have to buy another one in the future if you wish for better cooling than stock. Just make sure your powersupply isnt too close to the mobo so that it does not get in the way of the heatsink.
However if you still think that it is too rich for your blood. I would recommend the Thermaltake Silent Boost over the Aeroflow because it's quiet and it's better than the stock heatsink. It won't allow for the best overclocks nor the best temps. But it carries a low price tag and a low noise rating. :D
Thanks for the advice. I read some review that pointed out that the Zalman all copper vs the AlCu one didn't make much of a difference in keeping the temp cooler. I found the Zalman 7000 alcu in the low 30's and with the upgrade path as you mentioned being wide open with this cooler it looks like it just made number 1 on my list. Thanks for the advice.
Now looking for some low noise affordable 80 mm case fans ....
Bas
batter if you're looking for 80mm case fans the Vantec Stealth are about as quiet as you can get. :D
120mm fans are awesome :D

I have some Vantec Stealth fans but they don't do me any good cuz i have a lot of loud fans in my case too. :(

I'm a diehard Thermalright fan. Whenever I check out cooler websites, they always list Thermalright heatsinks at the top in terms of cooling performance. I'd recommend that.
