I have noticed an absence of USB ports on the latest motherboards.
What is happening to USB?

LOL?! there is no absence of usb ports on new mobos...

If anything, I think newer mobos are adding more USB heads so now you can have upto eight USB ports straight up, rather than the six I've seen before. Perhaps you're talking about some other legacy ports like the parallel or the regular serial ports?

Prolly. I've noticed fewer PCI slots in new mobos. (like only 3)

newer motherboard will begin to have pci-express only 2 or 3 pci slots

maybe the lack of usb connectors on newer motherboard is just visual because they are not located right under the ps2 connectors like they did in the old days

most new mobos have 6 or more usb2 connectors
