Personally I have been watching VIA and nVidia pretty closely to see who would first to put out a PCI-Express chipset for the Athlon64 platform. But, ATi is first!!

ATi Already Shipping PCI-Express for AMD K8 Platform (http://www.digitimes.com/bits_chips/a20041008PR203.html)

The ATi chipset seems to be geared towards the lower end of things, but it's still the first one out!

The K8T890 chipsets have been announced but I guess they haven't shipped any yet. The article claims that the ATi chipsets haven't been officially announced yet, they are waiting to see how the results turn out.

ati is really starting to move forward. with the completely new architecture for their gpu's coming they should see another spike in revenue. if the 9700pro architecture was good enough to last this long and improve this much i can't even imagine what the new architecture is going to bring for our gaming goodness. to bad i have to go with the 6800gt since i can't wait that long. i want to support ati but i also want the best card for my money.
