Nice one Geek.. I post about ATi yesterday. They were first to ship a PCI-Express chipset for Athlon64.

I too would like to grab an nForce4 board with AGP, ideally it would have one PCI-Express x16 slot as well to make the transition easier. I don't want to have to buy a new motherboard, CPU and videocard all on the same day.

IMPT EDIT: I AM going blind! Geek didn't post this....crap! Damn me!!!!

the times are real hard to buy right now. alot of good tech is coming out. the stuff available is pretty damn good but better things keep coming one after the other. to bad i can't wait that long. it's either now or wait another year. i can't wait another year.

i hope a agp slot gets popped in there in some fashion. Id gladly sacrifice a PCI slot or 3 for one. Maybe a AGP to PCIe converter so I can stick with my Ti4600. 2 video cards is going to ruin my wallet and my ambient temps :(

AGP to PCI-Express would be nice, but it's most likely different tech. so that might create a problem, however Id love to see it happen. Id rather make use of my 6800gt rather than sellin it for a lowe price just to buy another card.

All the boards ive seen so far are either the boards were accostomed to (agp+pci), or ones that are completely flooded with PCIe slots that I cant even use in the first place.

For once it seems like the computer industry is jumping head first into a new tech venue rather than slowly intergrating them over. I dunno bout the rest of you but I think its kinda $hitty to be forced into what appears to be a complete system overhaul (pcie vid card, ddr2 ram, etc) just to stay current.

This change wont affect me as much as everyone else because I, like a few others on this board, upgrade every 2-3 years or so. I've only had my XP processor, mobo, and memory for about a year now, and im begging to wonder if Im gonna get away with waiting another 2 more like I have in the past especially in light of games like Doom3 and HL2, which are harbingers for things to come in the gaming scene.

Ultimately I think its going to come to us, the consumer, to complain about the lack of multi-slot boards (both agp and pcie). Unless theres some underlying point im missing (like a technical reason why there cant be both on the same PCB).
