last night was the beginning of the cold season here in the south..it dropped to supposedly 48(8.8C), which i'll believe. during the winter i leave the window open from about mid-october to sometime in march. yeah..even when it drops to 22(-5.5C) outside, that window is still open. normally my ambient temp in the room is 74-78(23.3-25.5C), and the load temps on the case/cpu are 102/125(38.9/51.6C)..well, my ambient dropped to somewhere in the low 60's(15-18C)..and my case/cpu load temps last night dropped to 89/111(31.6/43.8C). i've never gotten the cpu to drop that low before, even idle overnight..this is awesome, i love wintertime.

Winter is great. This time of the year it only gets up into the 50's during the day, and usually drops to around freezing at night. Right now it is 66F in my computer room with 3 computers running.

its still fairly warm here in florida =/
I think I shall run a duct all the way to the Canadian border, and put a vantec tornado on my end to move some cold air down here for my case =)

I'd probably be cheaper to run a duct to your freezer. ;)
32 idle...36 load
with no window open...beat that :p

it's been a few weeks, but it got cold again here..i'm running 29C case/39C cpu, ambient is sitting right around 14C. the low tonight is supposed to drop to around 3-5C and i've got the window open with a 24" box fan on low. i'll reply back in the morning with the overnight temps.

You've got issues. Right now it is 23F outside (-5C), and there isn't a chance in hell that I'd put a fan in the window just to cool my PC. You need to build a little platform outside your window and just keep the PC outside :)

You guys are so lucky. The coldest it gets at my house is about 40 degrees. And that's at 5 in the morning. Then it heats up to about 80...all day. It suks for overclocking. But I don't have to shovel any driveways!!!! :p :p :p :p

Snow days would be much more fun than hurricane days! its jus startin to get cool in my part of FL, with the window open at night it gets to about 66 degrees at night, and its still hott durring the days
i'm getting my next duty station in san diego but my overclocking habit almost made me look into going to earl, new jersey. i gotta keep this fix under control. i mean common, earle, new jersey? it's almost like a heroine habit. hawaii is not the place for cool temps without running the electric bill sky high. almost none of the places here have central air. just about all the houses/apartments have only ac units.

I like the cold. It can actually be refreshing. Summer is great, but it sucks when it's hot everyday. Four seperate seasons are the best way to go.
Current Temp: 14F (-10C) ...and falling
A few miles to my north is is quite a bit colder....they are getting into some great overclocking weather...just set the PC up outside...
Saranac Lake, NY Current Temp: 3F (-16.1C)

its pretty cold up here in canada too...not so great for overclocking cause of condensation though :(

There's no condenstation if you just stick the whole box outside :D
Yep. My friend did it once just after it snowed. SK7 and TT SmartFan 2 and he got Case @ -5C CPU @ 2C

I'm just going to leave my clock speeds where they are now. It doesn't get under 40F, but it seems to be doing fine with those temps. CPU:45C
