If that's not a valid emoticon, it should be for things like this!

yea i was looking at that yesterday, i was looking around in the DFI forums, and they say that, that mobo is just a dummy, and the nforce4 is not done yet, and its going to take a while for them to come out, cause DFI wants to make the best board out there, so their going to wait for all the other manufactures to come out with them first. the thing i dont like about this board is that NB or SB near the 8x PCIe slots, is too close, so you can put active cooling with huge cards like nvidia geforce 6 series

Everything about that board is awsome. The southbridge heatsink has a lower profile than the PCIx16 slots, so it won't interfear. I love where the processor is, I'm a fan of horizontal memory banks. 8xSATA is awsome. I also like the location of the 20pin power connectory. You can keep all the wiring near the top of the case.

Awesome board, makes me rethink the purchase of the DFI lanparty UT board

i think that they should leave more room between the cards for cooling.. i would think that they are going to get hotter with not having much room between them? is that going to be right? imagine the HIS cards with the massive heatsinks!! me thinks they arent QUITE thinking the spacing out... great board all the same tho :)

ahhhhhhhhhhhh....*jumps up and down in excitement and joy* :p

i hope it doesnt cost more than 200 CAD :( that's what i budgeted for the mobo...

i dont care what it costs as long as its the fastest thing around and overclocks well, i will buy it :) money is no object when you are budgetting for something thats awesome and going to last a long time.. i dont worry about things like that :)

i was about to post this, and say the same thing about the same mobo :D

You cant place the card slots too far away from eachother because the SLI connector is only a certain length
well whut u gonna do... i know, stick with agp :)

not being completely stupid, but couldnt they make the connector slightly longer?

That would make sence but thats now the motherboard manufacturers decision but Nvidia's. And theres probably a good reason for it being so short, probably so that there will be no lag between cards.

I'd have to assume the connector will be able to span that gap. Think about it.. the 6800s take up two slots do to the cooling solution as is. So with the usual HSF on the cards you need the gap to be that big.
Either that or you just have to flex the cards in to meet in the middle and hope the PCB can take it.

well its not ideal having two very hot graphics cards together so close thats all i thought about... figured it would be even harder to cool down than it already is. not to worry tho.. im sure they know what they are doing! :)
