I am running 54 C on the stock hsk. Need great cooling in order to overclock. Any suggestions? Are shims a good idea?

just remembered i have a volcano 7 sitting on my shelf. would that be any better?

Um... 333 fsb huh? Ok, well...lol... anyways... what speed are you running your processor? Id imagine the volcano 7 would indeed be better than a stock heatsink, but I dont have any personal experience with it. Id recommend Thermalright SP-97 personally.

Anything by thermalright for HS. And anything by Vantec or Delta that says it will move 90CFM of air or better. Also go grab yourself a small tube of Arctic Silver 5.

Forgot to mention that it must clip on with the standerd clips. I have the MSI KT880 Delta-FSR motherboard and I don't see mounting holes.

The ALX800U uses the lugs. And Im pretty sure one of the sinks from the 900 series thats made of copper uses those lugs. Your gonna have to flip through thier product line to find one that does. www.thermalright.com

Just out of curiosity... what speed are you running at? With that 333fsb you listed, Im just a tad bit confussed! Are you using some odd ratio? Or do you just have some crazical RAM? :confused:

hes at 166mhz FSb, 333mhz is @ ddr

my cpu is running at 166 mhz fsh
ram at 266 mhz fsb

did you recently get it? for Athlon XP's the best processor is any of the XP-M's (mobiles)

about a month ago. been without a real computer for about a year. had a dell laptop i was limping on. bout all i did was check e-mail so i was over axious to get my computer back up.
