How risky is it and would the kit below work on a AMD K8

well if it says p4 and k7..then i expect its for p4 and k7 :p :D...

build a custom kit...much better... :)

The kit doesn't have the mounting hardware to work on a K8. You would have to either find one with the mounting hard, or go to Danger Den (http://dangerden.com) and configure your own kit.

Building your own can be quite a pain in the @ss. It's harder to build a water cooling setup than it is to build a PC.

i bet it is i think i will steer away from the whole idea and stick with replacing the 5 p.o.s. fans i have and getting a thermalright xp 120 and a sunon 120mm fan for my cpu

It's a bit overwhelming to get into watercooling but you'll learn the in's and out's very quickly... If you buy a complete kit from DD or say Swiftech you're set, they come wiht everything you need and in Swiftech's case (not sure about DD, never bought a kit from them) they have very good instructions.

Think about watercooling as an "investment", if you buy a good kit it only costs a few $$$ to adapt the blocks to newer mounts. ;)
