Has anyone tried memory cooler/heat spreader kits like these ones from Ultra (at the bottom there's also one from ThermalTake for a few $$ more)??

I haven't found much on the net or heard anything about them one way or the other. Ultra claims they reduce temps by about 8 degrees (celcius) under full load... Not too bad for $10 CAD/$8 US.... If it works...

Thanks for your time,

Justarius

Some of those models look a lot like what my Corsair has for heatspreaders. I dont know how much they do because Ive never had a problem and really dont have any way to monitor the temps. However, if you're having problems getting your ram stable due to overheating then I dont see how 10 bucks could be a bad investment :)

Im not so sure on the thermaltake one. It looks like a big BGA ram sink and half of a heatspreader.

it comes with a full heatspreader an 2 sinks for the graphics card mem...

get a copper heat spreader....they work...but most memory isnt gonna get that hot unless you put 3+ v in it...(at which point active cooling will be needed)
