Problems with HL2 and counter strike source

Im having problems with HL2 and counter strike source. When i open steam and goto launch the game it starts, the cd spins up and then it just wont start......just sits there. It was working fine yesterday but tonight when I got home and went to play.....nada.

Nothing was changed on my comp and Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling

Im at a loss.......HELP
