dba file tring to open in excell

My brother has win98se and has a palm pilot that uses dba file format and when he tryied to open it in excell it would not and it is now tring to open all his dba files in that software. My ? is how do we change this back to opening with pdf of anything else that will open it so other people can see the doc. through an e-mail? Thanks for all the input I anticipate :rolleyes:

open windows explore
go into tool->folder options->file types
find the file type you want to reassociate and associate it to what program you want
and thats pretty much that

Thanks for the info & I'll pass it on. This might be a stupid quetion but can you change any file to a file that you want? As far as extions I think I mean?

well yeah but programs will give you an error if you asign a file type to it dont know what to do with
