Ive always been told of the eveils of windows and i realize but its hard to change when you have a good hold of how it works. I really want to learn the potential of linux and could use it stability. I recently got a good copy of suse 9.1 and have been trying to get a good hold on the basics of the os but coming from windows its like trying to read latin to me. i can understand the meanings sorta but cant quite figure it out.

is there any books or anything that someone can suggest for weening me off of windozz onto linux...or somthing ... im kinda desperate.

Linuxbeginner.com is a pretty good forum.
Moving to Linux by Marcel Gagne' should also be pretty helpful.
I found my first go-round with Linux a little frustrating, since there seems to be a lot of conflicting info depending on what distro you're using. I'm going to give it another try, since I want to learn to program C and the (free) compilers for Linux are better than their Windows versions.

If you want to learn linux I think slackware is the way to go. Its easy to set up and get started.

Whats good about linux is their are tons of resources on the internet, just search around, youll find something.

if you get the right linux distro (im fairly new to linux myself, i can browse the web on it and use gimp;) ), the installation process will be fairly simple, i like the setup for mandrake alot, i just downloaded fedora core 3, im going to set it up on my sh!tbox and use that to run my gateway instead of windows xp, which works, but it constantly gets loaded with spyware really bad and i've reformated it several times, so ya thats my plan
