media player for 5.1 sound?

whats the best media player for 5.1 sound? i know mp3's are only really 2.1, but wmp plays 4.1 while winamp plays 2.1, but you enable hardware accel in winamp and its 4.1 like wmp....i like winamp overall better, but im looking for a descent plugin for 5.1

i dont really want all the extra crap like eq's and such, the logitech z-5500's eq in real time supposidly....anyone know of a good player, or a good plugin?

all audigy and audigy 2 card automatically upmix mp3 files to 5.1 channels no matter what player you use. You just have to enable CMSS or CMSS2

im using nf7-s, it has the nvidia soundstorm apu...supposidly better then audigy 2


also with winamp im using the kb 5.1 plugin, its pretty good aside from the fact that ends songs like 2 seconds fast for some reason

and i tried the kb 5.1 v 1.1 or whatever and worse then version 1

we've got the same board...all you should have to do is go into NvMixer and tell it that you've got 5.1 channel speakers and it does the rest from there. to test it, turn all the sliders for every channel completely off and then check one channel at a time to see if it set and works.

OK with mainboard drivers of 5.10 it comes with audio driver 4.42 and nv mixer
when i use nvmixer and goto speaker wizard it attempts to send the white sound through analog output and optical output

i have my speakers connected through optical output

i didnt hear sound i hit no it says it sent it through all the outputs verify etc

then i did the same thing again hit yes on optical, then it sends noise through all of the speakers one at a time, clone rear, all of this working

goto winamp and goto options prefrences plugins output click direct sound, configure, hardware accelration select the soundcard thing

and then its still 4.1

EDIT AGAIN lol

ok well it was set to 5.1 dobly, which means it can only be dobly digital on the z5500's, but if you set it to 5.1 regular you get more options so that the speakers basically decode it for you, so you dont need a plugin


still dont get wether the nvmixer is supposed to come with the new audio drivers or not, guru3d has it with it if anyone needs it

well i was your guinea pig again lol, dont download the new audio pack thing, its crap, it doesnt even come with nvmixer...waste of time

well i have nvmixer 4.42..i just DLed it like...last week from nvidia's site..and it supports 5.1 and all of that..don't know why you're having so much trouble.. :confused:
