you could maybe try and force it, but i dont know of any other drivers that would work
What board you're using again?
Check the Network PHY Controller (realtek, etc.) and then you can download directly from the manufacturer.............
State the board model and brand, we'll fork something out from the net :D

but trying to install a nic driver of another brand then the one on the motherboard would likely be as successfull as using an ati driver on your geforce video card ;)
No, just find the drivers for the PHY network controller, normally it was made by other company....................... nVidia just integrated the driver into its system drivers................
Here (http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=3244&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=US). Notice it uses the Marvell 88E1111 Gigabit Phy at the network section. Just to prove my point :D
The same goes to all nVidia Northbriges............. the nForce...........

i believed that when nforce mobo's had dual nic one was in the nvidia chip
and one was just a chip on the mobo
but then i never had a nforce mobo
i have the abit nf7-s if it helps...

Here what i dig from the net:
Your NF7-s uses the RTL8201 Phyceivers (realtek 10/100 LAN), althrough not mentioned in Abit Spec (http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=NF7-S&fMTYPE=Socket%20A&pPRODINFO=Specifications), it is mentioned Here (http://www.lostcircuits.com/motherboard/abit_nf7-s/)
So, realtek 8201 phyceivers, unfortunately, i only manage to dig up the linux drivers for it, and realtek seems to be stop supporting them and only allows the pdf downloads............
So, to conclude it all, there is no other drivers for RTL8201, it seems you have no other option than to use the bundled drivers.............. :p
