well, i decided to install the ms antispyware beta
Its microsoft and its beta version. What worse fate than BSOD? :p
Anyway, go on and use those Spybot S&D, and the ad-aware............. i've read the review that this ms anti-spyware is crap and didnt work that well............

well, i heard from a few people that used it that its not bad. but its still beta so i had no expectation of it being great. i just figured having something to detect adware/spyware in realtime as it comes would be nice. but it causes problems loading certain sites, so maybe its the way i had it configured (but its not that complicated as far as that goes). so its gone now

I reckon ad aware is a bit too vigorous, i let it delete all my spyware and couldnt access the net... so it to load it all back! There is too much for me to sort through so the little bugger programs are havin fun on my comp...

i thought it was quite good, had no problems running it on my comp. and works about the same as SB S&D, it detects everything, then i ran spybot, nothing came up, i ran 'advanced system optimizer' i got 2 spyware things, i think out of the 3, ASO is the best, cause its got other stuff with it aswell

There is a new variant of trojan, named BankAsh-A which attacks Microsoft Anti-Spyware software and disable it................
LOL, they even design a trojan to kill the Microsoft Product even the fact that its still in Beta Version. :D

Microsoft teamed up with a famous antispyware companie called giant. Microsoft has billions of dollars to pour into this. Microsft Antispyware found stuff that spybot and lavasoft both missed on my computer. And yes it is going to remain free, they put a time limit on the beta so people wouldnt keep using it when the final came out. There is even talk that it will be bundled with IE 7.

I installed it and use it and have had no problems connecting to any site, including PC Stats.

I just don't use anti-spyware/antivirus software at all. I know where I go and what I've got on here. Someone decided to challenge me on this, so I ran Ad-Aware and some program that TigerDirect really likes and they both found the same things: 49 legitimate (safe) cookies, and a legitimate (safe) program extention. They thought they won the bet because it came back with results, but it was a slap in the face when it was legitimate stuff.

no problems here either - are you using IE or Firefox? I use Firefox and have no problems

I find the MS Antispyware very effective. Adaware is a great utility but all I ever seem to find with it is Tracking cookies(you get these from every site even links you click on) and when I first installed M$ Antispyware program it found 3 more than Spybot. I have been using the MS Antispyware since the week Microsoft 1st put it on the download page and plain to keep on using it.

i've had no results at all with the MS beta, honestly, i've been using spysweeper lately, its the only thing i have any luck with these days

the thing that I really like about M$ anti-spyware is the notifications. It actually tells me everytime a program has changed, installed, or (most importantly) wants to add itself to startup. That way those sneaky progs that do that w/o asking can be c-blocked in their tracks. :p

ya, it has its pro's and cons, right now, im avoiding it though, beta and all, tried it, but for now i think it still needs development before its worth using
