Help! Every time i start up WinXP SP2, I immediately get a message entitled:

"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needs to close"

More detail:

"Error signature
szAppName: svchost.exe
szAppVer: 0.0.0.0
szModName: unknown
szModVer: 0.0.0.0
offset: 000000000"

What can this be? I've not done anything different recently. I've had a look online, saying stuff about HP printers and Windows Imagie Application (WIA) needing to be stopped, but it is stopped and i don't have a HP printer.

Please help!! Many thanks.

Hi:
I have recently purchased a brand new Panasonic R3 ( Windows XP Pro, 1.2 ghz Dolan processor, 512 meg ram, 80 gig hd. No norton or McKafee programs.) The importer re-imaged the drive with the English version of Windows XP Pro, otherwise, the drivers, etc., are as they were at the factory in Japan. I experienced the same error as attached below right out of the box:
"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needs to close"

More detail:

"Error signature
szAppName: svchost.exe
szAppVer: 0.0.0.0
szModName: unknown
szModVer: 0.0.0.0
offset: 000000000"

Both the importer and Panasonic US feel that it is most likely a driver/utility incompatibilty issue. Everything, so far that is, seems to function as expected.
I have disabled the "Imaging Acquisition..." utility to no avail. At the present time I have resorted to disabling the Error Reporting functions in windows until a better solution becomes available.
Any new thoughts?
