I need to find a good video/screen capturing program for a project. Im looking at Fraps, but the free version sucks for what I need to do. Anyone know of a nice free version that will do lengthy high quality takes? Basically what I need to do is capture video of a video game... that's basically it. Thanks in advance.

Not for screenshots... but for capturing video. Or does that capture video as well?

i have no problem with fraps, but eq2 is pretty hardware intensive game, i dunno i youll be able to capture some nice FPS while capturing video at nice settings.

The problem with fraps is that when using the free-trial version it will only capture at half rez. Also, it only captures a limited ammount of video at a time. I dont remember it doing this in the past... but who knows...

Try searching for Fraps 2.0 full version. You should be able to find one that isn't a trial and that someone allready registered. If you can't, just let me know and I'll hook you up! ;)

well, i am not quite sure but i think you can try ACA capture PRo (http://www.acasystems.com/).... it is pretty good to me.and i think it can help you out as well....

ACA capture PRO is a multi-function software...Not only capturing the video,
it can capture almost all kinds of files such as swf, all static images, flash on the website, window's menu item...Moreover, ACA capture PRo support selected-area capture function, it is mean that you have a more flexible screen capture resolution.....

By the way, more details about the features of ACA capture PRO,click here (http://www.acasystems.com/en/screencapturepro/overview.htm)
