Please read the guide on how to create a RAMdisk - HERE (http://forum.pcstats.com/showthread.php?p=235877#post235877)

Internet Temporary Files to RAMdisk

Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer and then click Tools>Internet Options.

In the "Internet Options", click Settings.....

Then, in the "Settings", click "Move Folder"

Select the RAMdisk............(I set my RAMdisk as S: drives)
http://img132.exs.cx/img132/2880/RAMdiskcont4.jpg
Then, select amount of space that the temporary file will be placed upon (i recommend 100MB or less)

Click OK and then you're set! Now, everytime you shut down, the data inside the RAMdisk will be deleted, and thus, you dont have to worry about cleaning the cache, cookies or temp files ;)
And yeah, the pages will load faster because they have Hyper-Speed cache there :D

Paging Files to RAMdisk

Go to the System Properties (incase you dont know *or have brain farts* on how to access the System Properties, right click "My Computer" and select properties - DOH!)
Go to the "Advanced" tab and select the "Settings"........

It should open the "Performance Options", there, go to "Advanced"tab and select the "Change" in the virtual memory area.....
http://img206.exs.cx/img206/6025/ramdiskcont71xr.jpg

It will open the "Virtual Memory" setting page, there, just click on the RAMdisk drive, and select the appropriate amount of Paging Files space (around 256MB is adviseable :D)........ and click "Set". It is adviseable to dismount/disable any Paging Files on your HDD prior to this RAMdisk setting.

Thats it, you should have fast paging files, and stubborn application like Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and such will work.............

I hope my visual guide will help you all, and any comments or question is welcomed greatly :D.
Thanks, Live long and prosper ;)

I just tried the above suggestions and wow! I could immediately tell the difference in the page file when I loaded up all my memory hog programs. Typically, even with 1.5GB of RAM, with four or five of my high end progs running, i would have a lag in something as simple as navigating through files, but I don't notice a damn thing now!

thanks for the much useful tip.

I've used a ram disk for my temp internet files for a couple of years now. Definitely a noticeable increase in internet speed. I was using win 2k pro and just recently switched to XP pro. One thing that I have noticed is that running the temp internet folder from a ram disk screws up windows system restore. There would only ever be one restore point shown and it was the most recent one saved. I've since stopped using a ram disk with windows XP. :(

I dont know about other people but i think system restore is a resource hogger and quite an useless program. Last time i used it, when BSOD greet me, their ain't nothing System Restore can do to fixed it. I've since disabled the System Restore till now.
